Inform. Advocate. Lead.

The Illinois State Association of Counties (ISACo) serves as a strong voice and trusted policy resource for county government in Illinois. We represent county interests in Springfield and Washington, D.C., provide timely information and analysis on the issues affecting counties, and help county leaders anticipate and navigate the challenges ahead.

Inform

County officials need timely, reliable information to make informed decisions. ISACo monitors legislation, state and federal policy, funding opportunities and emerging issues to help county leaders understand not only what is happening, but what it means for counties.

Advocate

ISACo provides a united voice for Illinois counties while recognizing that different regions of our diverse state sometimes have different needs and perspectives. We represent county interests before the Illinois General Assembly, state agencies, Congress and the federal government while working to protect local decision-making authority and advance policies that strengthen county government.

Lead

ISACo believes people deserve honest, ethical, transparent and innovative government that responds to their needs. We work with county officials and partners at the federal, state and local levels to identify challenges, develop solutions and prepare counties for emerging issues shaping the future of local government.

Almost 80 percent of Illinois residents are served by ISACo member counties.

We invite you to explore our legislative and policy resources, stay informed about the issues affecting counties and learn more about becoming part of ISACo.
