On Monday, November 15, 2021, President Joe Biden signed into law the almost $1 trillion Infrastructure Investments and Jobs Act (IIJA), also referred to as the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL), following 6 months of negotiation and eventual passage by the United States Congress. Illinois is estimated to receive $17.8 billion over five years for transportation and infrastructure projects following enactment of the IIJA.
